How to become a seller : Listing an item for sale

Editing a Listing

Can I edit a listing?

You can make changes to the listing card using the "Edit Listing" button, provided that there are no bids on the listing.

If there are bids on the listing, you can use the "additional description to the listing" option and add additional information, which will appear in the listing description with the time it was added. You can add to the description in My Auction (personal account) via the action button.

The seller can independently move the listing from active to inactive, etc., edit, sell, end the auction and relist, while retaining its unique number.

You can edit the listing in your personal account > Listings > My Listings > actions

Listing Statuses:

  • Active Listing - a listing posted by the seller for sale, on which the buyer can bid, put in the cart or buy.
  • Future Listing - an intermediate listing status, currently unavailable for purchase, but with a specific date and time for the start of the auction, planned by the seller.
  • Inactive Listing - a listing that is not available for purchase.

How many people have viewed my listing?

The view counter is located under the description section, at the bottom of the page on the right. Also, data on the accumulated number of views is available in the personal account on the Listings tab. The view is recorded when someone opens the listing's detailed description page. The counter is reset when reactivating (re-listing the listing for auction) or listing the listing as future.

Listing an item for sale

What is a listing?

A seller posts their product on Bargainz.IN in the form of listings.

A listing is a unit of product existence on the marketplace, with specific product characteristics, sales conditions and prices.

When a listing is created, the system automatically assigns it a unique identification number (id), for example: 57059501588688, which can be seen under the product location information on each listing page.

A listing with a unique number exists until the seller or administrator deletes it.

How to create a listing/put an item up for sale?

This can be done using the "Sell Item" button on the top panel of the site:

We recommend that you pay attention to the following important fields on the Listing Creation page to fill out:

Title

In the listing title, use words that directly relate to the product name and category so that the buyer can easily find your listing by keywords in the search. The maximum number of characters is 100.

Category

Select the category from the proposed list that best suits the product. A product placed in an unsuitable category will not be in demand and may be removed from the auction. In some categories, you need to specify a number of additional parameters, such as: weight, diameter, metal, etc. Be sure to indicate whether the product is in stock, or you are selling it to order!

Photos

Use photos that accurately depict your product in good lighting. It is advisable to take photos of the product on a white or light background. The maximum size for one photo is 10 MB. The maximum number of photos uploaded within one listing is 8. To swap photos, you just need to drag them with the mouse. The first photo in the list will be shown in the listing (in the general list of listings in the category).

To add a video, simply paste a link to YouTube with a review of your listing in the Video field and click the Upload button.

Watermarks

When this option is enabled, your login and the marketplace logo will be added to the newly uploaded photos. Watermarks on your listings' photos will protect them from unscrupulous users who use other sellers' listings' photos for fraudulent purposes. The watermark is located in the corner of the photo and does not cover the image, but the buyer sees the username in the photo and can compare it with the seller's username.

Auction Type

  • Simple auction – an auction with a starting price;
  • Auction with Buy It Now option – an auction with a starting price and a fixed Buy It Now! price;
  • Buy It Now! – an offer with a fixed price. With this auction type, purchase via the Shopping Cart is available.

In auctions, the quantity can be 1, in the "Buy It Now!" form - 1 or more items.

Price – depends on the auction type:

  • Simple auction – the starting price at which you are willing to start bidding;
  • Auction with Buy It Now option – the starting price and the fixed price at which you are willing to sell the product;
  • Buy It Now! – fixed price.

In listings of the Buy It Now! auction type, it is possible to allow or prohibit the buyer's price offer.

Duration

Select the period for which the listing will be on sale, the listing can be listed for up to 3, 5, 7, 10, 14, 21 days.

Automatic Relisting

When listing or editing a listing, you can switch to one of the following modes:

  • do not relist,
  • relisting with the initial number of items,
  • relisting with the remaining number of items*.

*The listing will be relisted with the remaining number of items if:

  • the listing ends after the planned listing period expires without a purchase;
  • the listing ends after a purchase, in which there are unpurchased items left by the time the auction ends (if there are more than one item).

You can interrupt the automatic relisting process by ending the listing early.

Payment and Delivery

Indicate who will pay for delivery - you or the buyer.

Specify the region in which the product is located. The product location may differ from the seller's location.

Specify the payment methods for the listing, and also pay special attention to the Delivery Method section - since the buyer can live both in the house next to you and several thousand kilometers away, when choosing delivery methods by Post, courier company and other delivery methods/by agreement, indicate the minimum cost of delivery. In the Notes column, you can give a comment that meets your delivery requirements.

Try to state your delivery terms as accurately as possible.

Start Auction

Select the time when you want to start bidding on the listing - you can list it immediately, or set the time from which bidding will start if you want to delay the sale.

Description

Describe your listing in free form, give additional information about the product, any parameters, etc.

Please note that it is forbidden to indicate any contact information and information for advertising third-party resources in the description.

Standard Description

These are templates that contain general information, for example, about interacting with you when forming transactions. Here you can specify any additional information about payment and delivery methods. The exception is contact information, the placement of which is a violation of the Rules of our marketplace. By setting standard descriptions, you can add them to the listing when listing or editing it. Standard descriptions will help save time and avoid errors in the description when listing a listing for sale. You can create standard descriptions in My auction > Settings > Standard descriptions (left menu).

Tags on Listings

You can set tags on listings. This can be done when listing a listing or editing it:

You can set up to five tags for one listing.

Tags will be visible on the listing page; you can use them to view lists of similar or related listings if they have tags.

To view similar listings, you can simply click on a tag.

After you click the Create button, you will be taken to a page where there will be a link to your listing, as well as an offer to apply advertising options to the listing! Using advertising options allows you to sell the product faster and more profitably!
